FAQ

Yes, only while onboard and riding The Buzz Bike in Dallas!

Yes, while on private property with the owner’s approval. (Your driveway, your yard, while tailgating, restaurant/bar parking lots, campgrounds, etc.)

There is room for either 2-40qt coolers on the floor.

No. Riders may bring on any permissible food or beverages they wish. We’ve got LOTS of space in the inside roof rack.

The Buzz Bike carries 16 passengers maximum, plus the Pilot, (17 total.) There are 5 pedaling seats, on each side, plus one non-pedaling seat over the rear wheels. There is also a bench in the back of The Buzz Bike that seats up to three, plus one standee spot in the middle for the “bartender”.

We recommend a minimum of 8 people to rent The Buzz Bike. (There are 10 “pedaling” seats, so 10 is actually ideal!)

The original Dutch name translates to something like “Bike Café”. Gloria and Maribel both met in the media business, so what else would the “BUZZ” be about, “The Buzz Bike!”

Go to our “ROUTES” page for details, duh!

The Buzz Bike operates rain or shine. We are Texans and we can handle all types of weather!

If dangerous weather does occur, The Buzz Bike reserves the right to cancel the tour and offer the renter a rain check. There will be no rain checks offered once “Your Ride to Party” has begun.

You will be charged a late fee if you do not return The Buzz Bike to the starting point on time.

The time it takes to complete a tour is up to the people pedaling. (So PEDAL, PEDAL, PEDAL!)

Your Pilot will assist in keeping you on time. We have test-pedaled all routes and know how long they take. (No pressure!)

Always! Our insurance provider requires it.

Corporations for team building, group rewards, and promotions. We’ve also been booked for parades (We are an instant parade float), Church outings, singles mixers, company parties, conventions, sports teams, pub crawls, AA meetings (You can drink coffee!), picnics, family reunions, bachelor/bachelorette parties, divorce parties, mid-life crisis (it’s cheaper than a Ferrari), you name it!

If you are allergic to the outdoors, hate even the slightest form of anything remotely resembling exercise, or don’t want to be seen pedaling a 16-passenger bike around town, then don’t rent.

The Buzz Bike has a minimum height requirement of 5’3″ for pedalers (there is only 3 adjustable seats.) There is a maximum weight limit of 300 pounds for people on the bike seats. The back seat is perfect for those who don’t meet the height and weight limitations.

All riders must be at least 18 years of age (21 on tours where alcohol is served) and provide valid identification.

The Pilot. If you act in a dangerous manner, you’ll be asked to get off and find your own way home. You can imagine the difficulty we had finding insurance for this thing in America. We need and would like to keep it!

The renter. Only one person can be a renter and that person is the only person the Pilot answers to. Can you imagine 16 people arguing about when to leave the bar? We don’t want our Pilot getting in the middle of that!

Riding The Buzz Bike can be a dangerous activity, just like riding any bike. You should have a reasonable expectation that you could possibly fall off and scrape your knee.

We offer bike helmets because it’s prudent. You don’t have to wear one– that’s totally up to you. But you do take responsibility if you bump your noggin’.

In the 15 years that Zwier and Henk have been running 15 “Bike Cafés” around Amsterdam, there was only one fairly significant injury. A woman tried to jump off while the “Bike Café” was
moving and broke her ankle.

On the flat, The Buzz Bike travels at a maximum speed of approximately five miles per hour.

Small hills are okay. The Buzz Bike was invented in the Netherlands, where it is very flat. Routes with grades greater than 5-6% for any extended distance may require riders to get off and push. None of the hills on our regular routes have required pushing (thus far…)

Yes, however restrictions apply. There is a custom tour charge of $100, plus
